New All Over Again

Smartypants Chick Goes to Roma

Typical day:

– Wake up

– Got to work

– Go home

– Go to sleep

Do it all over again the next day. Of course, there are other things that fill my day but sometimes I just get stuck in a rut called familiarity and I don’t see the details of every day life and how they can be special, wondrous and beautiful in their own right. In reading Anthony Doerr’s Four Seasons in Rome, I see that I’m not the only one that goes through this feeling of being stuck in a sticky pit of the same old, same old. There is nothing like traveling to open your eyes, almost like seeing the world for the first time. Here’s what Anthony has to say about it:
